3 What sort of data do we collect?
3.1 As part of our booking process, whether online or offline, we collect personal information such as name, address, telephone number, email addresses.
3.2 We use that information for a couple of reasons:
a to contact you if we need to obtain or provide additional information regarding your charter
b to tell you about stuff you’ve asked us to tell you about
c to check our records are right and to check every now and then that you’re happy and satisfied.
3.4 During the charter we might take photos and/or videos to be used on our website, social media platforms and/or promotional material. This will only be done with your approval.
3.45 We don’t rent or trade email lists with other organisations and businesses.
3.6 We might have to share your contact details with our skippers or boat owner(s). This will only be done to ensure communication regarding your charter, between yourself and the skipper or boat owner and will only be done with your consent.
3.7 When someone visits www.saildrive.com.mt we use a third party service, Google Analytics, to collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behavior patterns. We do this to find out things such as the number of visitors to the various parts of the site. This information is only processed in a way which does not identify anyone. We do not make, and do not allow Google to make, any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting our website.
4. How we protect your personal data ?
4.1 We will not transfer your personal data without your consent.
4.2 We have implemented generally accepted standards of technology and operational security in order to protect personal data from loss, misuse, or unauthorized alteration or destruction.
4.3 Please note however that where you are transmitting information to us over the internet this can never be guaranteed to be 100% secure.
4.4 We will notify you promptly in the event of any breach of your personal data which might expose you to serious risk.
Who else has access to the information you provide us?
5.1 We will never sell your personal data. We will not share your personal data with any third parties without your prior consent (which you are free to withhold) except where we are required to do so by law or as mentioned in 3.6 or in paragraphs 5.2 and 5.3 below.
5.2 We may pass your personal data to third parties who are service providers, agents and subcontractors to us for the purposes of completing tasks and providing services to you on our behalf (e.g. skippers on your boat charter). However, we disclose only the personal data that is necessary for the third party to deliver the service for their own purposes.
5.3 From time to time, we use a third-party provider, Mail-chimp, to deliver information about promotional offers or other news. We gather statistics around email opening and clicks using industry standard technologies to help us monitor and improve our e-newsletter. For more information, please see MailChimp’s privacy notice. You can unsubscribe to general mailings at any time of the day or night by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any of our emails.
6. How long do we keep your information?
6.1 We will review your personal data every year to establish whether we are still entitled to process it. If we decide that we are not entitled to do so, we will stop processing your personal data except that we will retain your personal data in an archived form in order to be able to comply with future legal obligations e.g. compliance with tax requirements and exemptions, and the establishment, exercise or defense of legal claims.
6.2 We securely destroy all financial information once we have used it and no longer need it.
